KBS To Hold Board of Director Elections!

The Kalmyk Brotherhood Society general meeting was held on Saturday, February 8th at 1PM.  THANK YOU to those who attended and paid their membership dues.  Elections for a new board will be held in April/May. Date and time will be determined.

Those who would like to run or vote for an office MUST be a paid member.

The deadline to pay dues to participate in this election is April 1, 2014.

The following people were nominated from the membership:

President: Alta Buruschkin and Purma Muschajew
Vice President: Larissa Kalatschinow
Treasurer: Brenda Cucukov and Vera Ulzinow
Secretary: Natalie Schneider

Auditors: Sanje Abuschinow, Peter Zebekow, Udbala Buruschkin

Junior Board:  Sodnam Marchio, Sara Cucukov, Aysa Zebikow, Ryan Pereborow and Kyle Pereborow

The Junior Board of Directors is to get the younger generation involved in all aspects of running and caring for the temple.

  1. Thank you for your comments! Ms. Alvarez, I have sent you a private email. Mr. Dakuginow, thank you for your concern and suggestion. I will send this suggestion to the board and copy you on my correspondence for transparency.

    There are community members who did not trust the manner in which elections were handled in previous elections. You need to face the criticisms , be they rumored or real, of violations in election protocol stated within the KBS by-laws. There needs to be a way to monitor the election process. Therefore, I’m suggesting an impartial, over-sight committee be formed to validate all requirements established within the by-laws, i.e. valid membership, authentic ballots, adherence to by-laws, etc.
    We need to be grateful for those who give of their time and effort in what sometime seems a thankless, volunteer job. Let’s start the 2014 election of our KBS administrators who will have no dark clouds hovering over their term of office; who will rekindle the spirit of cooperation and commitment to stir up Kalmyk unity.

    I would like to have a ballot sent to me so I can vote in the election. My name is Lidschma {Pasha} Alvarez and I am a Kalmyk. My parents were Abram and Namsa Abuschinow. I am a senior citizen and I would really like to vote in this election. My information is below.

    There needs to be a way to monitor and authenticate election results. Therefore, I’m suggesting an impartial over-sight committee be gathered which will validate all requirements for election, i.e., valid payment of membership dues, authentic ballots, adherence to by-laws, etc.
